Installing an Inflatable Bladder Dam in Water

Dewatering a worksite requires installing an inflatable bladder dam in existing water. The water may be static or dynamic. Either way, the conditions may require specialized installation procedures.

Installing an Inflatable Bladder Dam in Static Water

An inflatable bladder dam, such as the Aqua-Barrier® from Hydrological Solutions, makes installation simple and easy. Most installations can be done 3-5 times faster than conventional methods.

In static or non-moving water, the barriers are simply unrolled onto the water’s surface and floated into position. The barriers are buoyant and will float on the surface of the water until they are inflated. Once the barriers are in position, simply begin letting water into the barrier. Once the barriers sink into place, remove any remaining water from within the worksite.

Installation in Moving Water

A dynamic, or moving water installation, requires a little more effort and equipment to stabilize the barriers during installation. The ends of the barriers are controlled with hydraulic equipment such as a crane or track hoe and/or by anchoring at least one end to the shoreline. Even still installation is fast and simple compared to conventional methods in similar conditions.

The Advantage You Need

Step up your game by improving your dewatering process efficiency and quality with an inflatable bladder dam. Installation is typically much faster, easier, and more effective than conventional methods, and will save you money in the long run. Give yourself the dynamic advantage you need to blow past your competition every time.
